Six months after the Nova Transoeste began operating, Rio de Janeiro Municipal Government inaugurated the Pingo D’Água Terminal in Guaratiba on Saturday (29/06). Delivered by OEC – Odebrecht Engenharia e Construção, this is the third terminal built on this corridor from the extension of old stations. The first, Magarça, was handed over to the Cariocas (persons natural of Rio de Janeiro) on March 31, and the second, Mato Alto, on May 19. The works at the Curral Falso Terminal will be delivered later this year.

Tenenge – an OEC company specializing in the industrial works market – completed the construction of the South Gas Terminal, in Babitonga Bay, Santa Catarina, after finalizing the commissioning and performance testing of the undertaking. With the completion of the work, the terminal’s operation was definitively transferred to New Fortress Energy, which owns TGS.

On the last 6th of June, OEC Angola, through the Barra do Dande Oceanic Terminal project, carried out an Ecological Walk on the Barra do Dande fishermen’s beach for the collection of solid waste.

For the third year running, OEC was awarded by the Institute of Internal Auditors of Brazil (IIA Brazil) in the IIA May campaign for the various actions that praise and raise awareness of the importance of Internal Auditing. This year Novonor also took part and was recognized.

May is International Internal Audit Awareness Month. During this period, members of the OEC and Novonor from the various countries in which the companies operate were impacted by communication actions about the progress made so far.

After having built 51 schools as part of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for Education formed by SPE Inova BH and Belo Horizonte City Hall, OEC is once again building educational centers in the capital of Minas Gerais.

In further recognition of the continuous improvement of governance and integrity undertaken in recent years, OEC - Engenharia e Construção received the Pro-Ethics Seal 2022-2023 on Thursday (30/11), awarded by the CGU (Comptroller General of the Union) in partnership with the Ethos Institute.

Respeito TransformaLast Tuesday (18), OEC launched the Respeito Transforma project through an opening live with the presence of CEO Mauricio Cruz.

On March 18, OEC signed a new partnership with USP’s Junior Engineering Company (Poli Júnior). The aim of this action is to exchange knowledge between the organizations, bringing OEC closer to the university environment.

OEC has just won another contract in the United States. The new project will enable the use of new electric gantry cranes, resulting in significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, as well as increasing the operational efficiency of the Port of Miami, one of the most important in the country.

Olivia, OEC’s ChatBot, has been named Artificial Intelligence Project of the Year 2023 by Global CIO, an IT community that brings together more than 10,000 professionals from over 50 countries.

Project of the Year is an annual competition that seeks to discover, consolidate and promote the best IT practices created by IT leaders around the world, fostering the sharing of experiences and recognition among professionals. In 2023, the award featured more than 70 projects from 15 countries and more than 50 CIOs (Chief Information Officers) took part in the competition.
