SINICON (National Union of the Heavy Construction-Infrastructure Industry), the oldest organization representing the heavy construction sector in Brazil, celebrated its 65th anniversary on Tuesday, August 13, in Brasilia. OEC is affiliated to the organization.
On August 7, 2006, the Maria da Penha Law was signed into law, becoming an important reference in the fight against domestic violence in Brazil. This year, the law turned 18, but the number of cases of violence against women continues to rise.
That’s why, in 2022, the Lilac August campaign was created to raise awareness and reinforce measures to combat violence against women. Understanding what misogyny is – repulsion, contempt or hatred for women -, knowing how to identify signs of risk and situations of abuse are the first steps in combating gender violence.
We have become aware that scams linked to the offer of false job vacancies have been applied in the name of Odebrecht and Novonor. In view of this, we would like to point out some guidelines so that everyone is aware and can help prevent such occurrences:
-Our external selection processes are publicized and carried out through official channels: institutional websites and official profiles on social networks, as well as recognized sites specializing in recruitment, such as LinkedIn and Vagas.com;
The mayor of Miami-Dade County, Daniella Levine Cava, and the director and CEO of Miami International Airport, Ralph Cutié, visited the project to renovate the service counters in the central terminal at MIA Airport. The project, which is being carried out by OEC USA, is part of a wide-ranging effort to improve operational efficiency and the experience of passengers using the equipment.
On the last 6th of June, OEC Angola, through the Barra do Dande Oceanic Terminal project, carried out an Ecological Walk on the Barra do Dande fishermen’s beach for the collection of solid waste.
On March 18, OEC signed a new partnership with USP’s Junior Engineering Company (Poli Júnior). The aim of this action is to exchange knowledge between the organizations, bringing OEC closer to the university environment.
Olivia, OEC’s ChatBot, has been named Artificial Intelligence Project of the Year 2023 by Global CIO, an IT community that brings together more than 10,000 professionals from over 50 countries.
Project of the Year is an annual competition that seeks to discover, consolidate and promote the best IT practices created by IT leaders around the world, fostering the sharing of experiences and recognition among professionals. In 2023, the award featured more than 70 projects from 15 countries and more than 50 CIOs (Chief Information Officers) took part in the competition.
OEC Education Program, which aims to teach literacy to young people and adults, has opened a new class for members of the Xerém Water Treatment Plant -WTP, in Baixada Fluminense. The inaugural class took place last Monday, February 19.
Two decades of promoting sustainable territorial development were celebrated on July 20: the Norberto Odebrecht Foundation held an event to celebrate the 20th anniversary of PDCIS, the Program for Development and Integrated Growth with Sustainability.
