The ViaSul Consortium, formed by construction companies Odebrecht Engenharia e Construção and PowerChina, is responsible for widening sections B, C, and E of the BR-386 highway between the cities of Tio Hugo, Mormaço, Soledade, Fontoura Xavier, Marques de Souza, Lajeado and Estrela, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, for Concessionária das Rodovias Integradas do Sul, a CCR company.
Sections B and C cover a total length of 56.1 km, with two lanes and a shoulder. The work includes earthworks with excavations, asphalt paving, storm drains, special engineering structures such as viaducts, bridges and underpasses, as well as embankment and excavated slope containment, signage and traffic detours. In section E, in addition to the activities carried out in sections B and C, the work includes the duplication of 20.4 km between the municipalities of Marques de Souza and Lajeado and the construction of additional lanes with a length of 5.1 km between the municipalities of Lajeado and Estrela.
