The 47 young apprentices from the Industrial Logistics Process Operator program of the ViaSul Construction Consortium, formed by Odebrecht Engineering & Construction and Power China, took part this week in another technical visit, this time held in Soledade, the hometown of the program participants. The activity aimed to bridge theory and practice, expanding technical knowledge, strengthening local networking, and creating opportunities for professional development.
The visit took place at two leading industries in the region’s gemstone sector. At the sites visited, the apprentices followed explanations on production stages, organization of industrial spaces, storage methods, operational flow, and logistics processes applied in the mining sector. The activity allowed students to visualize, in a real environment, content previously studied in the classroom.
The group also had the opportunity to observe large pieces displayed within the companies’ facilities, including notable mineral formations, helping to contextualize the economic and cultural importance of Soledade’s gemstone and mineral hub.
Victor Lira Chaves, one of the apprentices, expressed his enthusiasm for the experience: “The technical visit was a very enriching experience, as we were able to see in practice everything we learned in the classroom, which made learning much easier and more engaging,” he said.
According to the instructors involved, from the Soledade City Hall and SENAI, the visit aimed to connect students with the municipality’s industrial reality, strengthening ties with the local market and providing essential experiences for their technical development.
The host companies showed great willingness to share knowledge, detailing their production routines and answering the apprentices’ questions. The initiative reinforces the joint commitment between the public sector, local companies, training institutions, and the ViaSul Consortium to promote high-quality professional training.
Through initiatives like this, the Young Apprentice Program continues to broaden horizons, create opportunities, and contribute to the personal and professional growth of its participants, while also strengthening the region’s productive ecosystem. The apprentices will complete the program in the first week of August 2026.
