Nine apps that every engineer should know about!

Engenharia 3.0
We have selected some apps that can facilitate the lives of engineers and engineering students!

Today every smartphone is full of apps with various functions. Now it seems difficult to live without music, social network, purchasing and leisure apps, but the possibilities do not end there and can add a lot to the professional side. We have selected nine apps that every engineer should know about:

1. Safesite

safesite

Safesite is a very useful app for construction site safety. With this, you can identify and correct problems before they become accidents, thanks to a mapping system, which enables you to add photos and share possible incidents with the whole team. The app also enables you to follow-up the whole problem-solving process in real time, through notifications.

2. Reforma Simples

reforma

The Reforma Simples (Simple Renovation) app is very handy for civil engineers who need to create construction work budgets, for example. With the information provided by the professional, the app calculates the amount of material required and the estimated values, from a list of prices updated by the National System to Research Costs and Civil Construction Rates (SINAPI) in the region where the project will be undertaken. This makes your life so much easier!

3. MyScript Calculator

myscript

A sheet of paper that does your calculations? This is more or less the principle of the MyScript Calculator. You write the numbers on the screen of your cell phone or tablet and the app transcribes the operation and solves it immediately! Various equations are supported, such as those that include unknowns, exponents, functions and square roots, for example.  All of this has the advantage of being able to save and share your calculations by email.

4. Co-Construct

coconstruct

Co-Construct is a collaborative app that can be used on both the computer and your cell phone and serves to assist with every project process. It establishes communication between project members and clients and also helps with time management, price comparisons and creating budgets.

5. iCircuit

icircuit

An excellent app for electrical engineers, iCircuit is a good option for simulations and circuit and component diagrams. The tool enables you to do tests with more than 30 elements, such as resistors, capacitors, inductors, signal generators and energy sources, among others. You can insert data on each of the elements and analyze project viability in real time!

6. Evernote

ever

Evernote is an app that was not developed specifically for engineers but it can be a great help in getting organized and that is why it deserves to be on our list! The app enables you to make numerous notes, capture images, save ideas, scribble, write to-do lists and whatever else you need to be organized. It is a great information management tool!

7. AutoCAD 360

autocad

Ahhh AutoCAD... this is an old favorite among engineers and architects. However, the practicality of its mobile version deserves a special mention on this list. The AutoCAD 360 app facilitates the lives of professionals in the field, enabling projects to be visualized and edited. Nor is it a problem if the project is in a place without an internet connection! The app allows you to make edits offline and updates only when the cell phone or tablet are re-connected!

8. Sun Seeker

sunseeker

It may appear to be just a detail for many but engineers and architects know the importance of the position of the sun when building. That is why Sun Seeker is a great help when you are undertaking a project, since through geopositioning, the compass and camera, it can advise of the sun’s position at any time, even from inside a construction.

9. Truss Me!
